World Series of Poker, Asia Pacific Roundup

The first ever World Series of Poker in the Asia and Pacific series has taken Australia by storm. The WSOP 2013 has made the Crown Casino in Melbourne the centre attention with 11 days of heated poker games and bracelet events.

The poker world has taken notice and compared the WSOP 2013 with the hugely successful Aussie Millions Main Even that has drawn in over 600 participants in the past. To give you a taste of the amazing events that have been displayed here is schedule: the NLHE Accumulator April 4th – 8th, the PLO April 7th – 9th, the Mixed Event 8 game on April 8th – 10th, the NLHE 6 max on April 9th – 11th, and finally the NLHE Main Event from April 11th – 15th. As you can see the WSOP 2013 delivered an action packed event from start to finish and has wowed the poker community.

The initial event permitted players to play one, two or all three of the Day 1 flights though each game required the $1,100 buy in. Unlike other tournaments this event introduced a new re-buy/ re-entry format which allowed surviving players to carry their chips over and players that went bust could re-enter and try their luck again. This new format not only offered something new for its audience it also reinvigorated the event and gave it a new dynamic that succeeded in adding to the intensity of the series.

The WSOP 2013 also hosted a Caesars Cup and High Roller competition alongside the other events. The audience witnessed an alternative arrangement of play in the Caesars Cup with three region based teams participating instead of the familiar two team format. As if that wasn't enough for viewers the AUD $50,000 High Roller event that took place on Saturday the 13th had enthusiasts gripped from start to finish.

The WSOP 2013 also had excellent coverage courtesy of ESPN and online streaming that kept the non-stop action coming. The Crown Casino has once again delivered a sterling exhibition of skill that has made this series an explosive experience.
